Christian burial is the celebration of the life of a baptized person who has died, and a significant part of grieving by those who love them. We pray for the person who has died, we receive communion, we commend the person to God, and we commit them to their final resting place.

Funerals are scheduled at times when the community can come together to share in the grief of their loss, and to remind each other of the hope of the resurrection. We have created a document to help individuals and families in planning funerals, which can be used long before the need arises. We encourage people to update their preferences from time to time, and to provide a copy of their preferences to the church office, for use when the time comes. You can download that document here and are encouraged to speak with our priest, Britt Olson, with any questions or concerns you may have.
