St.
Luke's Sunday School Program
|
At St. Luke's
we offer many opportunities for children of all ages.
During the 8 AM Eucharist in the chapel, we offer a
one- room schoolhouse for students ranging in ages from 4-13. This class runs from 8AM
until 9AM.
During the 10:00 AM Eucharist we offer four Sunday School classes
which run from 10:20 AM until 11:20 AM. The Middle School class meets only the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month.

• Preschool class
(ages 3–5)
• Early Elementary (grades K–2)
• Late Elementary (grades 3–5)
• Middle School (grades 6–8)
Preschool,
Early Elementary, and Late Elementary Sunday School
classes are held each week throughout the months of September-June,
with the exception of occasions when we have a combined Eucharist
at 9:00AM.
The Middle School class meets every first
and third Sunday of the month, with the students attending the
Eucharist with their families on the remaining Sundays. This class
also gets together on other occasions for fun and fellowship activities.
The teachers use the “Gospel Light” curriculum,
which provides a comprehensive guide through the school year. This
curriculum is geared to be age appropriate, and builds from year
to year. In addition to the published curriculum, the teachers
focus their talents on developing the students Christian education
through the study of The Lord’s Prayer, The Ten Commandments,
and The Nicene Creed. |
 |
|
The
students are encouraged individually and
collectively to bring their Bibles to class, memorize scripture,
and invite friends to school. They are
encouraged to learn about the Christian faith, understand it as
their own, and learn how
to apply it to their lives. The students also have occasional opportunities
to come together and participate in Bible learning activities,
skits, and community outreach projects.
Nursery Services are provided during each of the St. Luke's
Sunday Eucharist services. The nursery is led by a team of loving and
experienced leaders.

We welcome parish
involvement and strongly encourage members to use their skills and
talents to enrich the student's lives by volunteering. This
can range from making a commitment to be a full time teacher, to periodically
showing the kids a fun craft or teaching them a new song.
If you have any questions about the program please call and leave a message
for the Christian Education Director Dana Miller or email her
